Woman is injured in Schuylkill crash

Pauline M. Longenecker, 77, of Pine Grove, suffered minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash July 26 at 12:35 p.m. on State Rt. 183 in Cressona Borough.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said she needed to be extricated from her wrecked 2007 Chevrolet Impala, after which time she was flown to the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Police said she was southbound on Rt. 183 and was negotiating a left curve when the Impala left the roadway and struck a utility pole and concrete retaining wall. The vehicle became stuck between the pole and the wall and came to rest facing southwest.

Police were assisted at the scene by the Pottsville/Schuylkill Haven EMS and the Cressona, Schuylkill Haven (Rainbow) and Friendship fire departments.
