The Panther Valley Public Library, 117 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, held a picnic at the Lansford swimming pool on Thursday to mark the end of the library's Summer Reading Club.

The club, one section for pre-school children and those in Kindergarten through fifth grade.

The weekly session featured a variety of guest readers, including state Sen. John Yudichak, state Rep. Doyle Heffley, and WLSH on-air personality Kerry Dowd.

The celebration Thursday included the presentation of certificates by library director Debi Dodson to each child who completed the program. The children also received small awards.
