Published July 29. 2011 05:02PM

A man from Orefield escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash that happened after he avoided striking a deer on Orchard Road in Lowhill Township.

State police at the Fogelsville barracks said Chad L. Gray, 32, was northbound in a 2011 Nissan X-Terra when he swerved the vehicle to the right to avoid striking the deer. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree with the right side of its front end, resulting in disabling damages that required it to be towed from the scene.
