Deer enters path of vehicle on Rt. 183

No one was injured when a deer entered the path of a vehicle on State Rt. 183 in Cressona Borough on July 28 at 1:42 a.m., causing the 2001 Dodge Caravan to crash.

Police said Matthew J. Sinkovich, 41, of St. Clair, was driving the vehicle southbound, just north of Sweet Arrow Lake, when the deer jumped in front of it and the operator was unable to avoid the collision.

In addition to Sinkovich, three passengers in the vehicle were also unhurt.

Police said the caravan sustained disabling damages and required towing from the scene.
