Carbon man facing mischief count

A Carbon County man is facing a charge of criminal mischief. The incident was one of several investigated by state police at Lehighton.

Troopers said Michael Balogach, 31, of Weissport, allegedly damaged the cellular phone of Melissa Tessitore, 32, also of Weissport.

The incident occurred about 5 a.m. on Friday, July 22, at 218 White St., Weissport.

David John Dutton, 42, of 640 Mill St., Palmerton, reported his vehicle was entered and removed was $2 in cash. The incident occurred sometime between 3 a.m. and 6 p.m. on July 21. The vehicle was unlocked.

Robert Gene Beers, 66, of 1917 Dotters Corner, Kunkletown, Polk Township, Monroe County, reported someone stole his mailbox from his front yard area. The incident occurred sometime overnight of July 21-22.

Michele Ann Frantz, 28, of 65 Sunset Terrace, Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County, reported someone damaged a tree and spray painted a sandbox on her property.

The incident occurred sometime between July 17-24.
