Break-ins probed

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on probing two burglaries, an attempted burglary and a mischief incident in recent days at Schuylkill County locations.

Troopers said the Fresenius Medical Care facility at the BMA Medical of Pottsville building, 278 Saint Clair Industrial Park Road, in East Norwegian Township, was entered sometime overnight of Saturday, July 23, at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 6:45 a.m.

A crowbar or similar tool was used to pry open a window. Once inside the criminals removed a black Dell Latitude E6400 laptop computer.

The home of Lynore Buffington, 1128 E. Wiconisco Ave., in Tower City, was entered sometime between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday. Entry was gained through a door to the rear of the home. Once inside the criminals proceeded to the kitchen area located on the second floor. Removed was a wallet from the kitchen table that contained $100 in cash, a bank card and a set of medical cards.

An attempted break-in also occurred in Tower City at the home of Clint Stoner, 507A E. Grande Avenue (SR209). The rear door was pried open to gain entry. Once inside the criminals were confronted by the homeowners' pit bull dog. The criminals then fled the scene. The incident occurred on Friday, July 22, between 7:30 a.m. and 11:15 p.m.

Ronald Bettinger, 21, of 10 N. Crescent St,. Tremont, reported someone used a blunt object to shatter the front and rear windows on his 2000 Ford Explorer, parked at his home. The incident occurred sometime between midnight and 8 a.m. on Sunday, July 24.
