Individuals and families will have the opportunity to learn ways to prepare for financial security as the Tamaqua Salvation Army offers a free preview of Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace Seminar. The free session will be held July 28, at 6 p.m. Participants will also be eligible for a free Financial Peace University membership.
Following the preview, regular classes will be held in September.

The Rev. Kevin Roberts will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church. Nursery care is provided. Sunday school meets at 9:30 a.m.
Activities for next week will include: Tuesday, prayer time at 8:30 a.m., Playground Pals at the South Ward Playground at 11:30 a.m.; Wednesday, Waterside Whistle Stop at the Bungalow at 2:30 p.m., Tamaqua Youth Ministry and prayer and Bible study meet at 6:30 p.m.
Tamaqua Youth Ministry will get "up close and personal" on July 23, beginning at 6 p.m.
Calvary Evangelical United Methodist Church continues holding services and events at the Lewistown Valley Tabernacle, 614 Valley Road. The Rev. Brian Reading will officiate at this Sunday's 10:25 a.m. worship service. Sunday school classes meet at 9:15 a.m.
Also Sunday, a Bible study session will be held at 6:30 p.m.
Next Wednesday, there will be an evening of prayer and sharing, beginning at 7 p.m.

St. Peter's Union
St. Peter's Bible School closing program will be held this Sunday, at the West Penn Park, as part of the 10 a.m. morning worship service. The Rev. Cheryl Moore will officiate. The service will be followed by a chicken barbeque dinner.
A farewell to the Rev. Russell Heintzelman will be held following the 9 a.m. service on July 31.
YMCA turns 100
The Tamaqua YMCA is celebrating the 100th anniversary of its charter with a number of activities this year. Next up will be an "inflatable party" this Friday and Saturday, from 5-9 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.
