Obscene images painted on church

State police at Lehighton are investigating incidents in which obscene images were painted on a church and several homes in Monroe County.

The Middle Creek Christian Church, located at 343 Dorshimer Road, in Polk Township, was spray painted with the obscene images. The criminals also smashed a statue, attempted to smash a door and tore out plants and shrubs. The incident occurred overnight of Tuesday, July 19, into Wednesday.

Troopers also said obscene images were spray painted on the homes of Janet George, 81, Ronald Simms, 64, and David Charbonnier Sr., 70, who reside at 343, 521 and 597, respectively, along Lower Middle Creek Road. The time frame for the incident is the same as for the church, troopers added.
