A science camp was recently held at Panther Valley Elementary School.

During the week of June 13 through 17, 27 soon-to-be fourth grade students received the opportunity to learn about insects, spiders and metamorphosis. The camp, run by elementary teachers Ms. Forster and Ms. Penberth, is funded annually by the Panther Valley Foundation. This year's theme was "Bugging It."

Through out the week the students viewed informational Discovery Education videos, made their own bug catchers, observed/caught crickets, made dirt pudding, and completed a 3-D metamorphosis poster. They also enjoyed a visit by representatives of Seitz Bros. Pest Control, who presented a bug club program where the students learned about the difference between good bugs and bad bugs. They also brought along a live tarantula, bug specimens, and gave each student a T-shirt.
