A motorcyclist was injured in a crash along a Carbon County road. State police at Lehighton said the crash occurred about 6:05 p.m. on July 11 along Maury Road in Penn Forest Township.

Troopers said Noah J. Sweitzer, 30, of White Haven, was driving a 2005 Harley-Davidson northbound at a high rate of speed, when for unknown reasons, the bike traveled across the southbound lane and off the road. The bike struck a ditch causing Sweitzer to lose control.

After hitting the ditch the bike continued traveling northwest off the road for about 150-feet before overturning and coming to final rest in some grass off the road.

Sweitzer was injured and taken by ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, for treatment of injuries.

Troopers cited Sweitzer for driving a vehicle at an (un) safe speed.
