Kaitlyn is the daughter of Amber Locher and Jonathan Strohl of Jim Thorpe and also the Grandest Kid of Bob and Jodi Strohl of Connecticut, Shelley Locher of Lehighton and Dave and Michelle Locher of Slatington. She is the Great-Grandest Kid of Barb and Bob Strohl, Bob Roos and Jim Moser and Linda Locher. Kaitlyn's great-great-grandmother is Dorothy Sillers.
