West End Rotary

David O'Neill will present a program for members and guests of the West End Rotary Club at the July 14 breakfast meeting. His topic will be: "Reality-It's not What You Think!" (How thinking about thinking can help you be a better Rotarian.)

Car show benefit

Tri-County Vettes and Brodheadsville Chevrolet will host a Car Show and Swap Meet from 9 3 p.m., on Sunday, July 17, rain or shine. The event will benefit Boy Scout Troop 86 and United Way of Monroe County.

Summer Safety

The Chestnuthill Senior Center attendees meeting at Zion Lutheran in Brodheadsville will have a program on Summer Safety presented at 10 a.m. at the July 20 gathering.

These programs are free and open to the public.

VBS begins

St. Peter's UMC in Saylorsburg will hold its Vacation Bible School from 9 a.m. to noon, July 18 to July 22.

Blood drive

Banner Exchange

With the start of a new Lions program year, the Western Pocono Lions Club will welcome members from the West Penn Lions Club on Wednesday, July 20, for the traditional District Governor banner exchange. During the event, last year's District Governor Bob Kelsey will introduce new District Governor Scott Dudley.

New Leo officers

The PVHS Leo Club has selected its officers for the 2011-2012 year. They are: Jake Percey, president; Molly Smith, vice president; Zach Nagy, secretary; and Pat Jurczk, treasurer.

Serving as Leo Advisor is Sheri Fallon.

Recent visit

Former McMichaels resident and Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network volunteer Betty Werkheiser, now a resident of New England, was in Monroe County for a month-long visit.
