Two cited for being drunk in public

Two Monroe County residents were cited for public drunkenness in separate incidents.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said about 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, officers were dispatched to SR940 near the Wawa in Mt. Pocono for a male yelling and screaming. Upon arrival officers observed a male in the roadway with his shirt on upside down and half off.

The male was identified as Craig S. Defontes, 52, of Blakeslee. Defontes was visibly intoxicated and was placed under arrest. He was placed in the county prison in Snydersville for the night, police added.

On Sunday, July 10, about 3:02 a.m. officers were dispatched to A Pocono Country Place E-Club in Coolbaugh Township, for a report of an intoxicated male refusing to leave. Upon arrival officers made contact with Orlando Monrroy Jr., 24, of Tobyhanna.

Monrroy was visibly intoxicated and was placed under arrest. He was issued a citation, driven home and released to his mother, police said.
