Graduates from PSU

Nathan Halenar of Summit Hill graduated with a bachelor of science degree from The Pennsylvania State University, University Park Campus on May 11, 2011. Halenar acquired a degree in secondary education, citizenship and achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.54.

While at Penn State, he was involved with the SPSEA (Student Pennsylvania State Education Association), Campus Catholic Mimistry Choir, Penn State College Democrats, and the Blue and White Society. He was also employed as a part-time public address announcer for The PSU athletic department, announcing games for field hockey, lacrosse and soccer.

Halenar plans on maintaining residence in Summit Hill and has been substitute teaching at the Pottsville Area School District.

He is the son of Beth snd Bob Halenar Summit Hill, and the grandson of Elizabeth Marcinko of Lansford; as well as the late Paul Marcinko, John and Jeannette Halenar.
