July 11, 1957 George Barron has a strong game on the mound and at the plate to help Tamaqua gain a 3-2 victory over White Haven in the District 16 Little League tournament. Barron allows just two hits and strikes out 12 to earn the pitching win. He delivers a solo homer early in the contest and knocks in the winning run with an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth inning. Bob Myers and Dale Kline each finish with a hit and run scored for Tamaqua.
