Janelle Farkas, of Palmerton, recently graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, N.Y., with a bachelor of science degree in industrial and management engineering.

She was the RPI Formula SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) team leader for two years, a member of Alpha Pi Mu (Industrial Engineering Honor Society) and a member of the RPI crew team.She is a 2007 graduate of Palmerton Area High School.She is the daughter of Joseph and Jane Farkas, of Palmerton, granddaughter of Fred and the late Josephine Klementovic, of Lansford and granddaughter of the late Joseph and Mary Farkas, of Palmerton.She has accepted an engineering position with the Department of Defense at Tobyhanna Army Depot.
