Schuylkill woman cited for theft

Published July 07. 2011 05:01PM

A Schuylkill County woman was cited for retail theft following an incident that occurred about 10:12 a.m. on June 28 at the Chestnut Street Market, located at 250 Chestnut St., in Cressona.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Jessica L. Gustites, 26, of Schuylkill Haven, pumped 5.7 gallons of gas into her vehicle for a total cost of $20. She told the clerk she realized she did not have enough money on her and would return after going home to get the cash.

Troopers said she never returned to pay the bill. Because of prior convictions, the theft charge is rated a felony, troopers said.

Gustites was arraigned before District Judge James Ferrier, of Orwigsburg, and committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post 10 percent of $1,000 bail.
