PennDOT plow hits parked vehicle

A PennDOT plow truck struck a parked vehicle in an accident in Schuylkill County. It was one of several accidents reported by state police at Schuylkill Haven.

Troopers said Robert J. Mickonis, 54, of New Philadelphia, was operating a Mack dump truck of the state southbound on SR61 in Schuylkill Haven about 10:14 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 27, when the side plow struck the back end of a 2000 Hyundai Sonota. The Sonota was pushed in a southeast direction.No one was injured.Troopers also reported investigating a crash about 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29, along SR209 near Steins Mill Road, in Branch Township. Troopers said Kade L. Lehman, 20, of Pine Grove, was operating a 2001 Dodge Dakota Sport pickup truck southbound and rounding a turn when the vehicle began to fishtail. The truck went onto the berm and traveled about 68 feet before flipping over onto its roof and then re-entering the road.The truck then traveled about 10 feet on its roof until it came to rest. Lehman was able to exit the vehicle through the passenger side door. She sustained a minor laceration to her left hand and complained of a sore neck and right arm.Damages were termed heavy to the vehicle.A crash occurred about 1:12 p.m. on Jan. 24 along SR25 in Hubley Township. Troopers said Felicia L. Moore, 17, of Gratz, Dauphin County, was driving a 2000 Hyundai Tiburon westbound and negotiating a left curve when she was apparently forced off the road by an oversize load vehicle. The Tiburon struck a utility pole along the berm with the driver's side.Moore was not injured but damages were disabling to the vehicle, troopers said.
