St. Jerome's schedules events for Catholic Schools Week

St. Jerome Regional School will accept registrations for Kindergarten through 8th grade for the 2011-2012 school year beginning Monday of Catholic Schools Week (Jan. 31-Feb. 4)

St. Jerome Regional School is a Christ- centered Catholic School open to all, serving the parishes of St. Jerome, SS Peter and Paul and St. Richard.

SJRS, in partnership with each school family, strives to form a community of faith living and teaching the gospel message. The academic program meets the national, state and diocesan standards.

Dates and times for registration are: Mon. Jan. 31, Tues. Feb. 1, Thurs. Feb. 3 and Fri. Feb. 4, 1-3 p.m. and Wed. Feb. 2, 4-6 p.m. Kindergarten students must be 5 years of age by Oct. 15, 2011. All registrants need state birth certificate, baptismal certificate and record of immunizations.

Registration is $75 per child. Financial assistance is available. Applications for financial aid are in the school office. If you are unable to register during the times listed, please call the school office at (570) 668-2757 to make arrangements for a more convenient time.

Catholic Schools Week begins on Sunday, January 30. SJRS has many special activities planned for CSW.

Monday, January 31 is Mission Awareness Day. An Opening Prayer service for home and foreign missionaries will begin at 9 a.m Pastors will distribute report cards at 9:30. Kim Zardet, the Holy Childhood Association Director for the Diocese of Allentown, will present a program about missionary work and the HCA.

Tuesday, February 1 is CSW liturgy at 11 a.m.

Wednesday, February 2 is the SJRS Open House. It will be held from 6:30-8 p. m. All are invited to visit classrooms, meet the faculty, and view the curriculum, student work and technology. Refreshments will be served. All alumni, friends and benefactors are invited back to SJRS.

Thursday, February 3 is Grandparent's Day. Grandparents are invited for a continental breakfast with their grandchildren in the gym at 9:30. Students in Grades K -8 will provide entertainment for the grandparents at 10 a.m.

Friday, February 4 is Student Appreciation Day at SJRS. It is a DDD for the students. The Home and School Association is providing lunch and an afternoon treat. Board games will be played by students in grades K. Students in Grades 5 -8 will be treated to an in-school dance with DJ entertainment.
