Firefighters stress the need for residents to keep a 3 foot clearance of snow away from all fire hydrants. Tamaqua Fire Chief Tom Hartz Jr. stated, "every second counts when responding to a fire." Pictured overlooking Tamaqua are snow covered hydrants located at the intersection of Mahanoy and South Nescopec Streets and Mahanoy and High Streets.
