Tamaqua man, 53, charged with sexual abuse of child

A Tamaqua man was lodged in the Schuylkill County Prison Tuesday, after allegedly sexually abusing a five year old family member.
Kevin T. Gray, 53, of 142 Penn St., was arraigned before District Judge Stephen Bayer on felony charges of forcible compulsion involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, as well as misdemeanor counts of indecent assault without consent, indecent assault on a person less than 13 years of age, indecent assault on a person less than 16 and corruption of minors.
The charges were filed by Tamaqua Police Cpl. Henry Woods and stem from an incident that allegedly took place on New Year's Eve when the female child was an overnight guest at the Penn Street home. Gray allegedly touched her inappropriately after other family members fell asleep, sometime past midnight.
Bail was set at $50,000 straight cash bond, which he was unable to post.
