A power outage occurred this morning in the southern section of Lehighton.

A spokesman for the Power and Light Department said the situation occurred at about 8:30 a.m. when a contractor was moving a line and a short occurred.The entire town was restored within less than a half hour, it was reported.The outage affected traffic signals at the intersection of Route 443 and 209, at Graverville, and on First Street.Power and Light Department personnel immediately responded and remedied the situation.
