Car hits garbage truck in Coaldale

Around 8 a.m. this morning, Coaldale Fire Company and Police responded to a two vehicle accident involving a white Toyota Corolla and a Tamaqua Transfer garbage truck that occurred on SR-209 at the intersection of Fifth Street and West Water Street, SR-209, in Coaldale. There was heavy damage to the front of the Toyota, while the dump truck sustained minimal damage to the rear of the truck. Coaldale Police are investigating. Coaldale Fire Police detoured traffic during the fluid cleanup and vehicle removal. No serious injuries were reported.
