Walnutport ordinance prohibits the use of indoor furniture outside

Walnutport Borough Council Council has passed an ordinance that prohibits the use of indoor furniture outside.

In other business at Thursday's meeting, borough Engineer Jason Newhard presented council with the finalized master plan for the upcoming Memorial Park Project, which will renovate the war memorial on Washington Street. The project, which will cost around $261,000, includes landscaping, memorial pedestals, sidewalks, benches and an iron archway that will lead to the memorial.

Also, council:

• Voted to allow Grant Coordinator Mike Wentz to apply for a local resource and development grant for the project. Council will review the master plan and discuss it further at February's meeting.

• Retained Spotts, Stevens and McCoy as the borough's engineer for 2011.
