Over 60 Club
The Palmerton Over 60 Club will meet at noon on Tuesday, Jan. 18 at Palmerton Borough Hall. The program will be bingo and cards.
From 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Jan. 15, the Palmerton Camera Club will hold a free camera workshop at the Palmerton Area Library, 402 Delaware Ave., Palmerton. Did you get a new camera for Christmas and don't know how to use it? Bring your camera and manual, and get your questions answered. Call the library at (610) 826-3424 for information.
The board of directors of the Palmerton Area Library will meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, at the library. Meetings are open to the public.
Holy Trinity Church
On Sunday, Jan. 16, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, will hold worship services at 8 and 10:45 a.m. The Annual Congregation meeting will be held following the 10:45 a.m. service at about 11:30 a.m.
The newspaper drive by St. John's Lutheran Church was canceled last Saturday and will be held this week, Saturday, Jan. 15.
Should the weather not cooperate, the drive will then be held the first Saturday in February. As always, the garage across from the church on Fireline Road is always open. Papers may be taken there anytime.
Family Caregiver Support Group
Blue Mountain Health System Palmerton Hospital's Adult Day Services Center will hold a Family Caregiver Support Group on Wednesday, Jan. 26 from 6-8 p.m. at the Palmerton Community Services Center, 217 Franklin Ave., Palmerton.
Join other caregivers tending to family members with Alzheimers, stroke, dementia, Parkinsons, or other physical or mental disabilities.
Share comments, suggestions and ideas to help support each other and nurture friendships while learning to cope with the 24-hour-a-day job that can be physically and emotionally exhausting to the caregiver.
The group offers free education and community support from caregivers who understand the daily obligations.
Meetings are free and open to the public. Care is available for your loved one during the meeting. Light refreshments will be available.
