The driver of this sport utility vehicle, Anthony Dami Fitzgerald, 29, of Hazle Street, Tamaqua, was slightly injured Friday in an accident near the intersection of Breezewood Drive and Breezewood Road in Mahoning Township. Fitzgerald, who was traveling west on the snow-covered roadway, was treated at the scene by members of the Mahoning Valley Ambulance and Lehighton paramedics, then transported to the Lehighton hospital. Responding were the Mahoning Valley and Lehighton fire departments. Mahoning Township police are investigating the incident. Fitzgerald told Mahoning police he was headed to the home of a friend when he lost control of his vehicle on the snow and ice covered road. He was found by a Mahoning Township road department worker, who was plowing and salting the roads in the area.
