State police at Fern Ridge reported on two crashes probed by troopers recently on Monroe County roads.

A crash occurred about 10:35 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 1, along Spring Lane at Evergreen Hollow Road in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Jose Figuera, 20, of Bethlehem, was driving a 2005 Nissan Sentra southbound when he lost control. The car left the road and struck a tree along the berm. Troopers did not indicate if Figuera was injured.

The second crash occurred about 9:20 a.m. on Dec. 27 along Longwood Five Road, in Chesnuthill Township. Troopers said Laura R. Houghton, 43, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 1995 Subaru Legacy westbound and down an incline when she failed to negotiate a right turn due to snow on the road. The vehicle went through the intersection with TR459 and hit a tree along the berm.

Houghton was not injured, troopers said.
