2011 Boy Scout Sunday services held at Trinity Lutheran Church
Boy Scout Sunday Service was held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church on Feb. 13. Attending this service was Boy Scout Troop 82 and Cub Pack 82.
The service started off by thanking Trinity for sponsoring the Scouts and thanking Scoutmaster Scot Wingert and Cubmaster Wil Hoffman for dedicating their time to scouting.
The Troop honored the 2010 Eagle Scouts. The first was Justin Wingert who became an Eagle Scout on Feb. 22, 2010. His Eagle Scout project consisted of making a sign for the pavilion at the Weissport Canal in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Dr. Feldbaumer and making a mile marker signs from Weissport to Jim Thorpe on the Lehigh Canal towpath. Unfortunately, vandalism took over his project. Tyler Helmer and Sean Maloney were also honored for becoming Eagle Scouts on Oct. 6, 2010. Tyler's project was implementing an illuminated sign for the Franklin Township Fire Company and Sean's project was replacing the control markers for the compass course at Hickory Run State Park. Sam Blose was also recognized for becoming an Eagle Scout on Jan. 18, 2011. His project will be presented at the 2012 Scout Sunday service, along with Nicolas Kern and Zachary Shiner who are now awaiting their Eagle Board of Review.
The Scouts also had the honor to observe two baptisms at this service for Casey Wehr and Haley Wehr, who are cousins.
The Cub Scouts and the three Eagle Scouts had a display to share their work and awards with the congregation.
