The Rush Township Planning Commission reorganized on Thursday.

The board will remain the same, with Robert J. Ritsick serving as chairman, Thomas Murphy remaining vice chairman, and Lisa Price being reappointed secretary. Cathy Riotto and Kenneth C. Hoppes remain as members, and Peter Fagan continues to serve as Solicitor.Also, at Thursday's meeting, the planning commission met with officials from Air Products and Chemicals to discuss the drawing submitted to the township on Feb. 1 showing the site plan for the proposed ammonia plant expansion.The drawing was presented to Alfred Benesch and Company on February 11. The firm reviewed the Sketch Land Development Plan utilizing the Eastern Schuylkill Planning Region Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance (SALDO).The planning commission examined the results of this review and received the conclusion from Alfred Benesch and Company that the site plan sufficiently allows for continued discussion.The board voted in favor of recommending a special exception for Air Products and Chemicals regarding the proposed development.The Rush Township Zoning Hearing Board is scheduled to review the expansion at its meeting on Tuesday, Feb, 22.
