The operator of a Schuylkill County nursing home has been accused of theft from one of the residents of the home.

State police at Frackville said James F. McGill Jr., 58, of Kelayres, who is owner/administrator of the White Owl Manor, 1 White Owl Ave., in Mahanoy City, has been charged with two counts of access device fraud and one count each of identity theft and theft as the result of an investigation. Troopers said the victim is an 80-year-old male resident of the home, who they declined to name.

According to troopers McGill obtained an ATM card which was issued to the victim, supplied a pin number and used the card on 13 different days during the period of Aug. 16 to 30, 2010, without the elderly's victims' permission. Troopers said the total money obtained by the accused was $4,926.

McGill was arraigned on Friday, Feb. 11, before duty District Judge Stephen Bayer, of Tamaqua, and released after posting 10 percent of $25,000 bail.
