A Weatherly driver was slightly injured in a two vehicle crash that occurred about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of SR93 and Brenkman Drive, in Packer Township, Carbon County. State police at Hazleton said Shaylyn M. Correale, 20, of Weatherly, was on 93 when a vehicle operated by Zimfira M. Schellhammer, 50, of Wind Gap, pulled out from Brenkman into her path. Correale's Jeep Grand Cherokee and Schellhammer's Chevrolet HHR collided in the intersection. Correale was taken to the Hazleton General Hospital after complaining of knee pain, troopers said. Schellhammer was not injured. Troopers were assisted at the scene by volunteers from the Weatherly Fire Company, ambulance and fire police. The road was reduced to one lane for a period of time. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene. Troopers cited Schellhammer for a stop sign violation.
