Tamaqua man bound for court on assault, firing gun charges
A Tamaqua man will have his day in Schuylkill County court following his preliminary hearing last week before District Judge Stephen Bayer, Tamaqua.
Ricky C. Nelson, 33, of 103 N. Lehigh St., was bound over for court trial on charges of aggravated assault, discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure, issuing terroristic threats, simple assault, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest and harassment. The charges were filed by Rush Township Patrolman Adam Sinton following a Nov. 14, 2010, incident. Additional charges of burglary and criminal trespass were dismissed.
Bail was set at $5,000 unsecured.
Other cases heard before Bayer last week included:
James Paul Vidzicki, 43, of 51 Macomb St., New Philadelphia, was bound over for court trial on charges of driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol and careless driving filed by Rush Township Patrolman Richard Bekesy. The charges stem from Dec. 27, 2010, incident.
Vidzicki was released on his own recognizance.
Brianna Casserly, 22, of 705 E. Pine St., Mahanoy City, waived a hearing on charges stemming from a Nov. 14, 2010, incident. The charges were filed by Tamaqua Patrolman Matthew Bynon and include DUI, failure to stop at a stop sign and failure to keep right.
Casserly was released on her own recognizance.
