The 3rd annual Policeman's Ball was held Saturday evening at Memorial Hall on East 10th street in Jim Thorpe with about 200 people in attendance.

The emcee for this year's ball was Jim Thorpe's Borough Manager Wesley Johnson.

Dress was formal attire and the evening included dinner, drinks and dancing with music provided by DJ "Dave G".

Speaking about the ball, Borough Manager Johnson noted that "its a wonderful event and its the perfect time of year, just coming off of Christmas and after the letdown of New Years."

He continued "it just a wonderful bringing together of all walks of life - politicians, policemen, and regular citizens just rubbing elbows in the spirit of cooperation. Its a great event."

Proceeds from this year's ball will benefit both the Jim Thorpe Police Department and the Carbon County Special Olympics.

Last year, $4,000 was donated to the Fallen Officer's Fund for FOP Lodge 13.
