Nesquehoning police have arrested an inmate at the Carbon County Correctional Facillity in that borough with the assault of a correctional officer.

Police said Steven White, 19, has been charged with aggravated assault by a prisoner.The incident happened on Christmas at about 11:58 p.m. Police said Correctional officer Joseph Gurka was doing his rounds in the restricted housing unit of the prison when White asked him for a roll of toilet paper. Police said when Gurka was handing the toilet paper to the inmate White threw a white powder substance in his face. The concoction was later determined to be urine and baby powder.
