Two are arraigned on theft charges

Jesse Ray Collmorgen Jr., 20, of Homestead, Texas, and James R.M. McCabe Jr., 19, of Ringtown, were arraigned on Dec. 21 before District Justice Elizabeth Romig in Schuylkill County on charges relating to a burglary and thefts that happened in November at a county campground.

State police at the Frackville barracks said they have been charged with a combined 49 counts each of burglary, criminal conspiracy and criminal trespass, 20 counts of theft, 41 counts of criminal mischief and two counts of receiving stolen property.

Police said the charges relate to burglaries at the Red Ridge Lake Campgrounds in North Union Township between Nov. 15-18.

Police said it is alleged they forcibly entered more than 49 camping trailers and stole various items from within the campers.

The defendants were committed to the county prison in Pottsville pending preliminary hearings.
