A pair of programs helped ring in the holiday season recently at the Village at Palmerton.

Its annual Christmas Party, along with a visit by children from a local elementary school, helped brighten the moods of the residents, according to Norma Kunkel, marketing and admissions director.

For starters, residents and guests gathered on the second floor for the annual Christmas Party

Seniors and their guests received all kinds of food, live entertainment by Body and Soul, and a visit from Santa, who came with gifts for every resident, Kunkel said.

"It was wonderful to see the residents, staff and guests enjoying the day and having such a great time," Kunkel said.

Several days later, the facility hosted another program, whereby children from Towamensing Elementary's Life Skills Class visited the residents, Kunkel said.

The students brought a tree and ornaments, and sang carols for all who attended, Kunkel said. They also made handmade ornaments for everyone to help decorate the tree, and shared the joys of the season, she said.

The Village at Palmerton is a senior living community that provides individualized personal care services that address the physical, social, and spiritual needs of each resident.
