Summit Hill native wins writing award

For the third time in as many years, Bruce Frassinelli of Schnecksville has been named one of the top winners in the Golden Quotes Awards competition.

He won top prize in the "Best Column" category in the 2011 contest sponsored by the Professional Journalists and Communicators of Oswego County, N.Y. He is the first person to have ever won three consecutive best column awards in the competition which began more than 40 years ago.

Frassinelli is senior columnist for 55 Plus, in which the column - Santa Claus Scam appeared, and Oswego County (N.Y.) Business Magazine.

A native of Summit Hill, Frassinelli is a retired publisher/editor of The Palladium-Times Newspaper in Oswego. He also served as editor and general manager of The Express-Times of Easton.

He is an adjunct online instructor for the State University of New York at Oswego and a contributing columnist to Patch, a group of 11 hyper-local online sites in the Lehigh Valley sponsored by America Online and The Huffington Post.
