Police find man with drugs in car

Pocono Mountain Regional Police report they found a man was in possession of drugs in his vehicle after a traffic stop on Dec. 16 along Toll Road in Blakeslee, Tunkhannock Township.

They charged Michael Donnelly, 31, of Blakeslee, with possession of marijuana, possession of drig paraphernalia, driving while his license is suspended for driving under the influence of a controlled substance, littering and roadways laned for traffic.

Police said they stopped Donnelly at 6 p.m. for Vehicle Code violations and learned his license was suspended for having been under the influence of drugs. Police also detected an odor of ,arijuana coming from the vehicle, after which time the department's canine, Niko, alerted officers to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. The search revealed the marijuana and paraphernalia resulting in the charges being filed.
