Franklin Township approved the 2012 final budget, with no tax hike
Franklin Township approved the 2012 final budget on Tuesday night with only minor changes from the tentative budget. There will be no tax hike in Franklin Township for 2012. The minor change was in the sewage account and no other accounts totals were changed.
Residents will pay 6.3 mills for general purposes and .547 for the capital reserve building fund. Residents who live within 780 feet from a fire hydrant will continue to be assessed an additional .8 mills. One mill generates $15,901.60.
Supervisors anticipate receiving $1,168,249 from taxes, The budget lists a total of $3,991,494 in budgeted funds.
There will be no increase in garbage fees next year.
Supervisors plan to purchase a new police car for approximately $29,000 next year and purchase a used roller for the township road crew.
The board also approved another change order to the pond dredging plan at the Phifer Ice Dam Park. The change order will change the use of $750 of the grant money from purchasing poly-fence cap protectors to purchasing poly-windscreen.
