Burglar identified, apprehended in NY
Robert Milazzo, 37, of Bashore, N.Y., and Tobyhanna, was arrested on burglary charges stemming from an incident in Monroe County after he was apprehended on Dec. 14 by the U.S. Marshall's Service in Suffolk County, N.Y.
Pocono Mountain Regional Police said they obtained an arrest warrant for the man for his role in a burglary that happened at 10:30 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Diamond Jewelery in Mount Pocono. But police said they believed the man fled the Tobyhanna area and returned to his native Suffolk County.
Police said Suffolk County police notified them they had stopped Milazzo for a traffic violation but the man fled on foot and escaped. Two days later, marshalls took him into custody.
He is being held in Suffolk County on a charge of resisting arrest while he awaits extradition to Pennsylvania to face the burglary charges.
