Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lansford recently made donations to two local non-profit organizations, the Lansford Food Pantry of Carbon County Shepherd House. and Feed the People.

The Lansford Pantry had to relocate their distribution center this year, and is now housed at Trinity Lutheran Church, 104 East Abbott Street. The pantry distributes food to the needy in Lansford once a month on the third Monday of every month. The church donated $1,000 to the pantry to help purchase turkeys for distribution during the holidays.

Feed the People has intentions of opening their doors the beginning of 2012 and will serve hot meals from multiple locations. They plan on offering this service once a month at each of three Panther Valley locations, including Trinity Lutheran Church. The list of all of the locations and the schedule of the meals will be announced soon. The donation made to "Feed the People" was for $500 to help get the new organization started.
