Schuylkill man facing charges

A Schuylkill County man is facing charges following an incident in which he is accused of stealing three personal checks, then cashing them.

State police at Schuylkill Haven have charged Craig Allen Rittenbaugh, 38, of Pine Grove, with forgery and theft.

According to troopers in or around Nov. 22 Rittenbaugh stole two personal checks of Joy Lehman, 35, and one of Chris Richard Lehman, 39, of Pine Grove. He wrote out the checks to himself and forged the signatures of the two victims.

He then cashed the checks at two different Sovereign Bank locations. The checks were cashed during the time frame of Nov. 22 and Dec. 1.
