Heather Wagner's third grade class at Panther Valley Elementary School adopted a soldier currently stationed in Afghanistan. The local hero and PV graduate is SPC Samuel Michlovsky, United States Army. The class sent six care packages and have been penpals with the soldier since October. The students, as well as the other third grade classes at PV also sent nearly 200 Christmas cards for Michlovsky to distribute to American soldiers. The Panther Valley PTO paid for all shipping costs. Students pictured, front row from left, are Morgan Brimmer, Kayla Little, Lorelei Rydzewski, Hailey Hausman-Silfies, and Kya Norwood. Second row, Matthew Milkowich, Santino Dalessio, Julian Matula, Roberto Santiago, and Joshua Zagata. Third row, Autumn Steibler, Thomas Edwards, Alayna Eisenberg, Jatavia Johnson, Rhyannon Covell, Arianna Moser, Jacob Welsh, and Brittany McLaughlin.
