State police at the Lehighton barracks said a Saylorsburg man was cited for careless driving after a one-vehicle accident on Dec. 10 at 1 a.m. on Old Rt. 115 in Ross Township, Monroe County.

The driver, Andrew M. Garrison, 20, and a passenger, Kristen S. Brickley, 21, both of Saylorsburg, escaped injury in the mishap.

Police said he was driving a 1995 Ford Ranger north and was traveling at a speed greater than reasonable when he lost control of the vehicle. It traveled off the roadway and struck a stop sign/wrong way sign cluster at the intersection with the Rt. 33 exit ramp, then overturning and spinning clockwise for 180 degrees before coming to a halt.

Police said the operator and passenger fled the scene before police arrived.
