A Schuylkill County teen was struck by a vehicle, did not immediately report the incident, and claims the driver fled the scene. State police at Frackville said the incident occurred between 11:15 and 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, along Raven Run Road, near the SR54 intersection, in West Mahanoy Township.

Troopers said Adam Jevelle, 18, of Ringtown, said he was at the above stated location to meet a friend and was walking across the road when a vehicle struck him and the driver failed to stop.

Jevelle did not immediately report the incident. He drove to his home and later, at about 1:30 a.m., drove to St. Catherine's Medical Center, in Ashland, for treatment.

At this time he reported the incident to hospital personnel who called troopers.

Jevelle could not explain or justify to troopers why he was walking across the road.

Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at (570) 874-5300.
