CCTI to present proposed budget to Carbon County school districts

Published December 02. 2011 05:01PM

The Joint Operating Committee of the Carbon Career and Technical Institute has approved presenting the 2012-2013 proposed secondary budget to the five Carbon County school boards. The proposed budget needs to be reviewed and voted on by the school boards.

For CCTI to pass the final 2012-2013 budget, at least four out of the five Carbon school boards must pass it. The budget for CCTI is an active district share between all five of the Carbon County school districts.

The proposed budget calls for a 0.70 percent increase in district member share. The 0.70 percent increase would be $42,640, which would be split up among the five districts. The proposed 0.70 percent increase is compared to the previous year's increase of 3.75 percent.

CCTI Business Administrator, Jeffry Deutsch, stated that the increase in the budget is due to an increase in salary and benefits.
