Another arrest made in break-ins
State police at Frackville reported another arrest was made in connection with the break-in of 48 camping trailers at a campground in Schuylkill County.
Troopers said James Robert Michael McCabe Jr., 19, of Ringtown, was arrested on Wendesday, Dec. 1, for his part in the entries that occurred at the Red Ridge Lake Campground, located at 61 Miller's Road in North Union Township.
Previously arrested in connection with the entries was Jesse Ray Collmorgen Jr., 20, of Hempstead, Tex. He was arrested on Nov. 18 about 10:50 p.m. when he was found by campground staff members asleep inside one of the campers. At the time of his arrest Collmorgen refused to give his name and was arrested under a Joe Doe warrant. He was initially charged with three counts each of burglary and criminal trespass and two counts each of theft and receiving stolen property and one count of criminal mischief.
Collmorgen was arraigned Wednesday before Senior District Judge Elizabeth Romig, of Frackville, on additional charges of 26 counts each of burglary, criminal conspiracy and criminal trespass, 22 counts of criminal mischief, 12 counts of theft and one count of receiving stolen property. Bail on the new charges was set at $250,000 straight cash. He was returned to the county prison in Pottsville where he has been held since his arrest on the initial set of charges.
McCabe was also arraigned yesterday before Romig on 29 counts each of burglary, criminal conspiracy and criminal trespass, 25 counts of criminal mischief, 14 counts of theft and one count of receiving stolen property. He was remanded to the county prison after failing to post $250,000 straight cash bail.
Troopers said the investigation into the incident is continuing and additional charges are expected to be filed.
