A shooting incident has led to a Schuylkill County woman being charged.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said about 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30, Kelly Mintz, 20, Kaitlyn Mintz, 19, Andrew Diemer, 21, and Thomas Blankenhorn, 26, all of Schuylkill Haven, were in the area of 30 Mintz Lane, in South Manheim Township, tracking a wounded deer which had been shot earlier in the evening. The four had flashlights and were tracking the deer in the dark.

Troopers said at this point Jean Mintz, 65, of Cressona, exited her home and walked towards the four and fired a shot from a handgun to frighten them. Mintz told troopers she thought the four were trespassing.

Troopers said Jean Mintz will be charged with recklessly endangering another person.
