A Monroe County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI), and several motor vehicle code violations, following an incident that occurred about 5:32 p.m. on Aug. 24 along Gilbert Road at Fairground Road, in Polk Township.

State police at Lehighton said Jolanta B. Loranc, of the 200 block of Shady Oaks East, Saylorsburg, was operating a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder when she failed to stop for a stop sign, failed to use turn signals and failed to stay her lane of travel.

She was found to be under the influence and was taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test result.

Loranc was charged with duties at stop signs, driving on roadways lane for traffic, turning movements and required signals, and failure to carry and exhibit driver's license.
