Crashes probed

State police at Lehighton reported on several crashes investigated by troopers.

A one vehicle crash occurred about 11 a.m. on Aug. 25 along Weir Lake Road, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Paula A. Martini, 48, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue northbound and negotiating a curve when she saw a deer on the road. Martini attempted to avoid the deer but could not and struck it. Upon impact she lost control of the car that spun onto the berm and struck a tree.

Martini was not injured but the vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

A two vehicle crash was reported at 5:52 p.m. on Aug. 25 along Fireline Road in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Wayne F. Wallace, 57, of Palmerton, was driving a 2004 Dodge Neon westbound while Wade T. Fisher, 38, of Weissport, was stopped in a 2004 Dodge Neon at a stop sign on Golf Road. Wallace attempted to make a left turn onto Fireline and struck the right front fender of Fisher's car. No one was injured.

A three-vehicle rear-end type crash occurred about 1:08 p.m. on Aug. 26 along SR209 in Polk Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said Irina Makarevich, 42, of New York, Glenn O. Stuckley, 39, of Parryville, and William J. Robertson, 42, of Schnecksville, were all southbound. Troopers said Stuckley stopped to make a left turn. Makarevich failed to observe Stuckley stopping and her 2011 Toyota Rav4 struck Stuckley's 2005 Dodge Neon in the rear. After impact the Rav4 was struck in the rear by Robertson's 1999 Ford F350 truck.

A passenger with Markarevich, Fira Natsiashvili, 86, of New York, sustained a minor injury but did not require immedidate medical attention. There were not other injuries reported.

Troopers cited Robertson for following too closely.

A two vehicle crash occurred about 5:34 p.m. on Aug. 26 along SR209 in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Margaret M. Griesback, 51, of Kunkletown, was stopped in traffic while Emily M. Dechirico, 18, of Saylorsburg, was northbound. For unknown reasons Dechirico failed to see traffic stopped ahead of her and her 2010 Kia Forte struck the rear of Griesback's 2011 Kia Sorento.

No one was injured in the crash.
